Ecosys P2135dn, manual feed not working.

Customer has several Ecosys P2135dn. Many of them is the manual feed not working because the metal plate - where the paper stack sits on - is not being lifted up. There's a wide gap of around 5mm between the take up roller and the cork friction pad on the base plate. It looks like that there is at the right side some kind of white plastic lever or cam which should allow the metal plate to raise but it doesn't. Any ideas please?

Re: Ecosys P2135dn, manual feed not working. **SOLVED **

Got it, there's a white lever at the right side of the manual feed table which should sit on top of a corresponding white lever in the machine. Somehow it slips under it and therefore there is no lifting up of the base plate of the manual feed table.

Seems a weak point with this machine cause the customer has several P2135dn's doing exactly that.

I find that once a customer finds a way to screw up an MFP, they immediately do the same thing on every machine within their reach. I can't really explain it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
