    Ecosys P2040dn, often no takeup

This Ecosys P2040dn is only one year old and having 25K on the clock. Often it does not take up the paper from the cassette. Pushing the stack of paper down in the cassette until the bottom plate locks in, it works again for a few prints. Takeup and feed/separating rollers look very good and I cannot imagine that they are already worn with this little amount of prints.

Any known issues with clutches or sensors please?

Most desktop Kyoceras have a spring in the feed assy that can go missing.

I was reminded of this post and I realize you were involved in it so you probably looked already

Thanks for your input guys. Found out that this machine is designed without that famous spring in the take up system. Paper tray sensor was OK, but the both springs pushing up the plate under the paper stack in the cassette where so weak that the upper sheet of paper was barely touching the take up roller. I increased the spring length around 20mm by pulling them longer. Since than no pick up problems anymore.
