Kyocera TASKalfa 300i KX Job Account ID

    Hi everyone,

I work in an office environment where we use a Kyocera TASKalfa 300i KX network printer. We also apply Job Accounting IDs due to billing purposes. A colleague of mine uses a ThinkPad laptop that I recently installed the relevant drivers and successfully connected him to the device. I activated the Job Accounting settings like I always do and even successfully printed a test page.
However, for some reason, whenever he attempts to print application documents like MS Office Suite files (i.e MS Word docs or MS Excel docs) after correctly entering the Job Account ID, the printer returns an "Incorrect ID" error. Similarly, printing browser web pages will catch the same error too. Other staff members (some of whom use similar computers) can successfully print with the same code without a problem.
But for some reason he can print Notepad documents OK.
The only thing he can print is the test pages and Notepad docs.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks guys.

    Hi blsquires,

I'll do that and let you know how it goes.

    Thanks!

Re: Kyocera TASKalfa 300i KX Job Account ID

    Hi everyone,

I tried playing with the Job Account settings and discovered that the computer could print OK if I set it to use the account ID - and not prompt the user for it (as I had initially set it to work). It's still not quite a fix, but it'll do.

Thanks blsquires for your input, I really appreciate it.
