Lexmark X464. Need part# for 4circuit flat cable from display panel to board. Broken

Please give part number or let me know where to order this small 4 circuit flat cable.,I don't see it in parts list. Assume it comes with display unit and other flat cable but don't need whole unit Frank/Action Photocopy

When I was installing maintenance kit, the replacement of fuser
unit required disassembly of many parts. I accidently caused 4
circuit flat ribbon cable on display unit to break and there is no part
number listed in manual for it and I don't want to purchase display
unit to get cable.

I have in the meantime ordered 2 4 circuit cables that are 6" long
from Digikey and am hoping that one of them will do the job. I have
done that with them on an HP machine once.

I also have few 8 circuit cables and wasn't sure whether to try cutting
one in half and trying that

Your last option should work fine, that is cutting the 8 pin cable in half. when you install it, take your meter and check that the that flat cable you install is not shorted at the connector and that should work fine and as long as the cable fits securely into the connector. Also the width of the cable should be approximately the same size.

So you broke the brown flat ribbon cable. This part is not available separately. Looking at the manual, the steps to remove the fuser is rediculous. You have to remove entire scanner assy and more. This is why, with lexmark, you have to read the assy and disassembly instructions or you break things or install them incorrectly, especially the covers. Have said this many time here before.
