Hello everyone,
I am trying to get a little help on a Lexmark X734DE; in which I am continually getting a message to close front door. I have replaced both door interlock switches (one in the middle and the one on the bottom). Can anyone help me figure what else this could be? I have ohmed both switches and they are good. The machine completes the calibration and goes to the ready screen; when I push the copy button, it tells me system busy and the front door message returns.
What type of switches are they: microswitches, photointerrupters, momentary contact switches ... ?
If they're microswitches they are usually switching 24vdc from the PS. Do you have 24vdc?
If they 're photointerrupters they usually get 5.0vdc from the controller board. Are you getting. 5vdc?
If they 're push switches they'll also use 5.0vdc. Are you getting 5vdc?
Does it change state when you operate the switch? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sometimes those messages are not very accurate. Maybe the back door is open. IIRC one of those lexmarks has a door switch for the panel to access the main controller pcb.
What happens if you cheat the door switches?
