    Swapping boards

Is there any issues with swapping boards between like printers to test, is there a special way to do this, or just cant be done?
Fellow tech tried this to trouble shoot a touch screen issue, and would up with a NVRAM error.
Can this be done, or is it just order a new board time??

    Thanks

From this old tech's memory, PWBs are tied to the serial number of the machine. You can swap one board at a time if you power up into the Diag mode. You can test to see if your problem is fixed or not. If not, return original board, and try the next board with the same power up sequence. If it looks like it is fixed, I don't know what the next step is except to call Lexmark support. I'm not sure if the NVRAM error can be reset. There are only 3 or 4 boards that are tied to the machine.
I hope someone else can explain this better than myself.

    Re: Swapping boards

    Typically, NVRAM is copied on:

    Systemboard
    Control Panel

There may be other parts on newer units.

You don't want to replace more than one of these items at the same time, otherwise you risk receiving the NVRAM errors which are not clearable that I'm aware of.

That's what I would have said. In the package with your new board, there's a page telling you to first try booting to 36 mode to find out if it solves your problem. The board is not married to the machine until you boot to normal mode. No idea if you can even temporarily swap in a used board. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
