This Parts & Service manual can be purchased for $12.77 and downloaded immediately after payment from

And BTW.......an Optra R is NOT an HP 5si. 2 completely different printers.

Manuals4U is right. The optra R is more like the old IBM laserjet printers. The optra N is more like the 5si. So which do you have the Optra N or the Optra R?

    For Optra R

Note: If the printer is in “Menus Disabled” mode, you can activate the menus by powering on the printer with the Return button and the top button pressed. Repeat the POR procedure to disable the menus again after service.

    For Optra N

    Menu Disable
To disable or lockout the menu press the Return key and top soft button as you turn the printer off and on. The printer will power up and display the Ready screen without the MENU soft key. This prevents a user from changing anything from the panel. Status and attendance messages will be displayed normally. To re-enable the menus repeat the above POR sequence.
