Lexmark color C935 Printer DRAM error

I just picked up a used C935 and when I plug it in, the first and only thing that shows up on the display board is "No DRAM Installed". In order to operate this unit, must DRAM be installed? I have loaded the drivers on the computer and hooked up to the USB and network with nothing being recognized or working. I even tried to hook a flash drive directly into it. Nothing. Pulled the board out, sure enough no memory has been plugged in, but my question is if it is required or do I have a bigger issue to diagnose? Thanks!
