- I am in my 50s and have been fixing electronic equipment since I graduated from UEI in 1980. I started on Canon calculators, then on to CPT word processors (precursor to the PC today, they had two disk drives & a small HDD), then on Monroe calculators, then on Monroe copiers, which were Mitas on the inside. I then worked at a local independent Toshiba/Lanier dealer in Louisville for 13 & 1/2 years (the last 3 were real hell as the owners sold out to the "Toshiba Corporate Empire" after I had been there for 10 years (I had a " no compete" agreement and could not leave till I found the right place) & now I work for the local school system, repairing all kinds of copiers, mostly Ricoh & Kyocera.
