RRodger, How have you been? Haven't talked with you in awhile. I may be selling a Cpp550 to someone soon. It is in good condition only 687K on the meter. I have been doing the service on it for awhile. The customer replaced it with a Ricoh C4503 or something from POA. I asked her if she had checked the court website to see how many lawsuits are pending. Don't know if she did. The new customer wants to do variable data on the cpp550. It has the IKON pro 80-03 fiery server. Do you know if that will do the variable data? Things have been very slow here business wise. Think I will have to look for a job soon if things don't turn fast. I think I'm ready to try something new. I noticed that techsconnected.com FTP site was down along with the site. What's up with that? Guess I should have gotten on that site more often to keep up. Hope this message finds you and yours in good health and good times. Tom
Whats wrong with you? fuc**in Ass**hole !
About all you can do is swap components with a known good machine, but this isn't really practical. If I had seen this earlier, I would have suggested bringing home the fiery controller, reinstall the system at your leisure over the weekend and try again when you go back next week. FYI, I may or may not be a member for long. That issue with Paul has caught the eye of Aneurism, who more or less wants it to stop or "else". I replied back that I would take my chances with that and if pushed, would make it a legal issue regarding this site's blind eye to what paul is doing while at the same time profiting from it. I have yet to hear back on that from Aneurism. Hopefully he will see that it is in his best interest to nix the manual sales on this site, regardless of my threat.
It could be something as stupid simple as getting an updated version of the program they are using to convert. But truth be told, they could also circumvent that program and obtain Acrobat pro and print the file to PDF through the Acrobat installed PDF driver. At least in that way, you know for certain the file is formatted to standard and if it fails in spite of that....well??? Test the original file in an alternate computer, if possible your laptop. Obtaining the software to do so might be tricky, but there are many demoware packages out there that will allow you to at least test that assumption.
Memory on the main body is dropping that much? I would have to say that there is something up with that particular file, a large image embedded in it. If it is a PDF, try printing as image. If it is not a PDF, see if they can save the file as a PDF and print as image. In the past, the hard drives used to be used as part of image processing, but since version 15, this is no longer the case. Pity really, since the hard drives are virtually useless and would have helped a little here. You reduced the memory on the Fiery, so there might be a correlation to that, though how I am not sure. There is a memory patch for version 1.1, I am assuming you are using the latest system code tho.
Whats up R? It's Nikk man, just droppin' you a line to say hey. I was in the forum neighborhood in regards to a toshiba manual for replacing that stupid estudio 3511 transfer belt..(nightmare box) and I saw your profile on the forum. Since You are the only RRodgers I know in SBdo I figure it had to be my bro from burtronics... Take care man and keep the faith. Nikk.
Here's hoping the problem is memory. It can happen. Out of curiosity, is there a power conditioner connected to the fiery? Bad power levels can sometimes cause issue, it might be worth investigating.
Did you get that IC-408 and the 500G drive issue sorted out?
