    Newbie just checking in...

    Morning all!
Director of a small printing firm in the UK.
in a previous life we had several B1 Litho presses, but now we service the other end of the market, we're now digital doing the stuff for small NP's, charities, and all the odd's and ends the big boys don't need.
In our digital life we have always had KM machines - stick with what you know - A c451 from new which at one stage was doing 90k pm, since then we've worn out a few more and currently have our 5th c451 - chugging along; c550 - slowly dying; c5501 - purrs like a kitten; and a c6501 - right pain in the .... (insert culturally appropriate slogan)
Seeing we don't make a packet in what we do we use these older machines and do all the routine servicing ourselves - which after a couple of years we were doing with KM permission anyway with the first c451 machine - but know when to call in the pro's. Saying that we have replaced all sorts of bits on our machines and stripped the dead ones to their individual screws - great way to get to know your machine
Have really appreciated this site and the intense amount of expertise on here, so it's time to jump on board from lurking in the shadows.
Always wiling to help where we can and thanks in advance for the advice we'll receive.
    Mark

    Welcome!

It 's very educational to strip a unit (or in your case a whole machine!) down to it 's component parts. Otherwise you might never see how some of these things work up close.
    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
