    squeal

the copier i have is a toshiba estudio 2500c. Everything I have read points to the fuser. When I crank the machine up in the morning it doesnt squeal until about the 10th copy. So I guess it has to get warm first which further more points to the fuser. Some reason the squeal just doesnt sound like its coming from the fuser. Does any of the outer rollers ever squeak?

I have dealt with this alot and nine times out of ten replacing the fuser solves the problem also try cleaning the paper feed rollers

I was hoping for a less expensive option

im sure a little grease in the right spot could solve the problem

Re: 2500c giving off a deafining squeal

If it is the fuser its probably the scraper blade for the fuser belt, if its too close to the belt it gets a toner build up and can make alot of noise, clean it and move it away from the belt a small amount...move it too much and it will jam.

You could always do get the noise going then run the motors to check where it is coming from using the 03 test mode. If you think its the fuser start the drive up but remove the fuser drive fear from the fuser so it doesnt drive.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.
