Firmware Updates - How do I know if I need one?

Aloha - I am new to the industry and was wondering if there was a simple way to find out if there are firmware updates for a machine I am working on? I work for a dealer in used equipment and want to find out all the tools I can possibly use to help solve our customers' machine problems? Mahalo for any help.

This is really the wrong forum to ask that question. What model machines do you work on? Go to the forum for the model on this site, post your question, and you'll get an answer sooner. FYI, though, unless you're working on printer side of the business (Lexmark, HP, etc...), you won't be able to get firmware free and in some cases none at all.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Thanks for the input. I will post to the appropriate forum.

FYI - We work on all machines. We are not an authorized dealer for any manufacturer, but work on mostly Ricohs, Sharp, Canon and Toshibas.

    Thanks for the help.
