    Sharp UX-A1000 not feeding

My Sharp UX-A1000 has problems feeding on 75% of the multi-page documents I send.

Troubleshooting in the manual has nothing to offer besides checking the paper weight.

Before I give up and throw it away, or continuously "help" sending multi-page documents, I wanted to see if anyone has clues on how to fix it.

    Thanks!

    Ryan,
This is a dilemma we come across all the time. How much time can you spend on an $89.00 fax machine before you exceed its value? Usually about 1 hour, and no parts.

Most fax machines of this type use an original feed system with (1) feed tire and a separation pad (to hold back all but one original). The two important features about that separation pad are 1) is it clean? and 2) is there the right amount of pressure of the pad onto the feed roller. For #1 you can clean the separation pad and tire with a citrus oil based cleaner. For #2 you can make sure that the separation pad is spring loaded, and that the feed cover is properly closed/latched.
