my customer has a c6100 and the belt loks to be in good shape is there a way to reset the count so machine will stop given a belt life end???

Yes, replace the belt! Sorry, just kiddin'.

Even if if the belt looks alright you should replace it. The machine also needs it to do it's process control. The machine gives out a warning very early to let the customer order a new one. I would advise the customer to print until the machine stops and then replace the belt.
