Panasonic CL 18 color printer

I have a machine popping an error 36 intermittantly. I removed the black drum solenoid/clutch and cleaned it, but it ran for 3 days then came back. The manual says to replace the drive unit... um yeah....or the control board. Since the solenoid is working in the test mode, im at a loss. Has anyone had this problem before that can point me in the right direction?
