hi I want to puchase Samsung CLP-315 Colour laser printer. I am having own computer center and I am doing DTp works I want complete and valied details about the printer and most common errors and toner details and complaints. pls give suggesiolns.

They run pretty good. The early production machines had a defective exit sensor photointerrupter (early production has a white connector, later production has a black connector). Symptoms were "Paper Jam 1" with the paper ~3" out the exit of the machine.

If you really want to impress the technician load "SmartPanel" to your PC so you can actually see what kind of problem your having. There is no display on this printer, so SmartPanel acts as a printer monitor on your PC. "The red light is on." doesn't really help diagnosis very much. There are only about 35 things that could mean.

Other than that it is mostly idiot-proof. I don't recommend setting it up on it's left side for any length of time. The transfer waste toner dumps into the ITB home sensor and waste bottle sensor giving false indications and errors. I don't know why someone would want to set their printer up on its left side, it seems like a dumb thing to do. And I've had three calls for just that. =^..^=

That photo sensor in these machines makes me a KILLING. Samsung pays very well for a 20 mins job of swapping out those sensors, but as blackcat said, you do wanna load the smartpanel on your computer. There have also been some major defects in the SMPS board / fuser unit in these machines I've come across. And be very careful when attempting to remove jams from the fuser unit because you can end up breaking off the pressure lever / connector on the left side.
