Oki C7550 "Black Toner Sensor Error"
The title says it all, Customer has an Oki C7550 that indicates "Black Toner Sensor Error" on the display, Works great except for the message. The book has no explination of what the error is or where to start. Has anyone bumped into this on before?

Yup, one of a number of things, broken mechanism in the toner bottle, broken drive mechanism in the drum unit proper or no drum drive proper, or bad toner sensor (under top cover usually). Most likely bad bottle or broken mechanism in drum tho, tshoot by moving drum to different colour position and close cover if error moves then its your drum or toner thats the prob.. move by removing keys on side or bottom of drum unit.
Regards!

Bad Sensor Flag
We help people troubleshoot this problem once or twice a week. 90% of the time it is the toner sensor actuator of the toner sensor board. The actuators were not manufactured well, and Oki has come out with a revised version. I don't know how much they are, but I'm sure it is not too expensive. Give us a call at 800-367-4836 and ask for Michael or Whit.

Thanks, It's not the toner or drums so I will look at the actuators and board next time.

Sensor flag worked for me - "toner sensor error"
I have a Oki C7200 and was having -black toner sensor error- ... Sometime I would have the error and sometimes not, but had the error many more time than what it did not report. Having read here about sensor Flag .. I replaced the Flag and have not had any errors since. ..... I had no problem to replace the flag. Removed screws from bottom of lid and the TOP cover of the lid will come off ... and then you may have to remove a cover over the flag area. ... popped old flag out and re-seated the new. A #2 phillips screw Driver worked best even tho the screws are small. ... Thanks Michel for your post and the part to fix it.... that helped me keep my Oki running error free.
