Re: Xerox phaser 8570 and their new ink detection loader
Hi guys,
i have ace a couple of these xerox wax machines myself. The 8560mfp I melt my own wax from much cheaper sticks I buy on ebay. The original xerox sticks come in the handy molds that I use for recasting sticks. The 8570 is a different kettle of fish. On the ink loader there are three pairs of light detection diodes that detect the stick being inserted. I thought I would have a go at "rewiring" the loader. Basically swapping the tracks on the two pairs of diodes allowing the machine to use metered only sticks whereas the machine is actually an unmetered one. It is pretty easy to do those of you out there with decent soldering skills?
Check out my images of the ink loader pcb. I get no errors at all on the machine and the ink loader accepts metered ink every time with no issues!!
