    Panasonic DP 1820 questions

    Hi!

I mostly work with HP printers, but now I have a customer who has a Pana DP 1820 too.
Obviously I'm not familiar with this machine so I'd ask your help for it's maintenance.
Once the small tool sign started lighting red and asked to call PM. The drum was changed. Then I reset drum counter.
Now this counter shows 18k. and the service call pm message is on again.
I suppose it wants a regular maintenance, but I dont know how to tell it, I've done the job!
I can get into the service mode, to the counters but what to do there?
I see two suspicious numbers on the counter list, may they cause the problem?
Drum rotate counter shows 260% (It seems I forget reset it.)
Developer count shows 100066 Perhaps it is over it's lifetime?

Now we can print with it, only the red light is disturbing but I would appreciate your help!

Try reseting the maintenance counter (F7-03)

OPC drum' s life and developer' s life is 60.000 copies. When you will change the developer material you willa have to run the F9-09 diagnostic and when you will replace the drum you will need to run F8-14.

    Hope I helped you.
    Good luck.

I'm in trouble again with the same machine!
It started fade printing. Everything was gray instead of black.
I loaded developer into it, immediately started printing strong black letterts. Too strong, too black. You can feel the text with your finger on the sheet.
I suppose I should set something.
I tried F9-09. It wants to refresh something, press set button. When I press set, I hear two beeps, and no more reaction.

Always perform F8-09 after changing developer material. It is better not to have the toner bottle pulled in while doing the F8-09 process. It is important not to make any copies until you do the F8-09. Now, after that, pull the toner bottle into the machine and make several copies to check the quality. If the copies are too black, try to decrease the value of F6-19 (default is 0).

    Hope I helped again.

    Re: Panasonic DP 1820 questions

I just replaced an OPC Drum in my DP-1820. Instructions told me to perform the copy service mode F8-14 to clear the OPC drum counter. I have the key operator pin, but do not know how to get into a mode to use F8-14. I don't want to hit an issue 3 months from now because i never reset the counter.
