Panasonic DP-C213 Drum Reset

Does anyone know a way to reset the black drum counter on this machine? I ordered a new drum but it is taking too long to come in. The machine is down!

F8 25 will do it, only reset k this will get you by untill you get your new drum when you install the new drum, it will reset like normal.

Thanks for the response. I had looked in Service Manual and thought that F8-25 might do it. I tried to get into service mode but I was unable to get in. I pressed "Function", "Copy", "3" at the same time but it would not work. Do you think the fact that I had a "Replace Black Drum" was the reason it would not work? It seems to me that you should be able to access service mode even though the machine is showing a fault.
As you might be able to tell, I am new on this machine. I'm trained on Xerox, Canon, & Ricoh. Also more recently on Samsung.
Anyway, I installed new drum and everything is back to normal. (Whatever "Normal" is)

its a firmware issue, not sure if it was solved with the update,

open the front cover and close it, then tray again to ge in the service mode

however once the machine has locked out resetting F8-25 will not work.

but if you remove the drum unit at the back beside the drive gear you will find a black actuator arm. that arm needs moved back to its original home position. then once the drum is re inserted, the machine thinks its had a new drum

however replace the drum when you get the chance as soon as possible because once the drum is worn it can pull the developer stright into the waste container & thats more expense at your end.

Thanks for the replies guys. Lot of good information above. I found out something really interesting when I got the new drum. My supplier sent me the drum and it had a lablel that read "Can be used in Black or Color position". The black drum was modified by burning a hole on the front platic cover and removing the metal bracket that prevents the black drum from going into the color positions.

That might be an aftermarket drum then. I do know that the blacks can be used in color slots but you actually have to take out the metal bracket inside the hole that is the bumpstop for the drum units. I've moded mine with a small cutting disc (just enough to get the bracket out without showing that the drum has been altered). It will save you alot of money in the long run also. But with the new gen of color machines all the drums are the same unit. Guess Pana got smart to techs modding machines.
