    Panasonic DP-4520 J74 ADF error

I have a Panasonic DP-4520 with error J74. The paper feeds into the adf and on way out of adf it stops and comes up with error. All sensor flags are operational and I could not find any debris blocking paper path. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks

There could be a piece of paper blocking the path of the registration sensor. Its hard to see because you actually have to take off the top part of the ADF to get to the sensor. Hope this helps.

    Thumbs up

It was solenoid in front left of ADF assy that was stuck and sending paper into duplex copy slot instead of out of ADF.

The manual says that the ADF Exit Sensor does not detect paper. Never problems with solenoids on these machines.

Solenoid was stuck thus diverting the paper to the section for (2 sided original copying) not just single side coping, thus the adf was not seeing the paper in the correct location.

    I see.
In the machines I do service, ADFs are very reliable. I only had some 6010s with ADF feeding problems but after the upgrade kit everything goes great.
