    Thank you plano tech. I guess I will need to call in a service company then. We usually handle minor stuff ourselves but this is probably beyond what we can handle.

    usually with e4-01 codes,i've found the thermistors in fuser need cleaning.. now,there is a way to clear the code,but i recommend doing it after correcting source of your problem.. you said that ya'll normally handle minor things so i'm takin it as you're not a tech. and if that is true then you are to be commended for knowing when to call for tech. support and when not to go diggin around inside the equipment.. more customers should be like you.. and if i'm mistaken in my assumption and you are a tech, then please accept my apology, and let me know and i'll help you in any way i can with the resetting procedure..ave a nice day..
