    Smile DP-C405 J81 !!!!

I have 3 Panasonic dpc-405 with j81 when running duplex. Page enters the ADU turnaround section and advances too far, catching on the sensor (ADU 0) when going down into the ADU unit. I had this on a dpc-322 and replacing the clutches worked, but not on the 405. So far I have replaced both clutches in the trunaround, all sensors and actuators, an ADU pcb, paper transport unit, removed the finisher due to a known motor issue, and adjusted the ADU paper loop, but still getting j81. Happens on all sizes from all drawers. Several of the afore mentioned parts were at the request of Panasonic tech support; I think I stumped them. I have even taken a working turnaround unit and the problem still persists. Thank you all in advance.

Hate to say it but firmware loaded twice? SC: 10027 EC: 10013

Have you tried it without the transport unit on the machine?

Yes and yes, including a shipment set. Also without the transport and with a new one out of the box.

405 is the 3rd generation. Have you been using ADU's, transports and boards from 322's and 354's? Some of boards and wiring look the same but are not interchangeable. They'll change one connectors wiring so it's not compatible. Great design...
Sounds like a SC/EC board issue if an entire mechanical ADU section from a working unit fails.

All parts used are from the same family, 405's. I have also swapped out an EC board and am waiting on an SC this week.

yeh i would have gone with the EC board next, followed next by the SC board, i just had a strange 1 myself recently, where i was getting J27, i finally sourced the problem to the SC board, the F2 fuse had blown,

The SC has 2 green leds upper right corner and 1 red led damn near under the memory card. The EC has 4 leds. I always check these first, especially the EC. I am still waiting for my SC board from Panasonic. As soon as I fix this mother, I'll post the fix. Thanx for all the input.
