I'm doing a DIY project in which I want to use a power switch that will automatically switch itself off when power to a system is shut off. I know on the Canon IR Advances they do this exact thing, but how do they do it? What kind of switch do they use? Is it a switch that has a magnet it in that when power is lost it release and the switch is flipped back to the off position? Is it done via a solenoid that pushes the switch back to the off position when the machine is shut down?
If anyone can clue me in to how they do it I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
