    Getting toner out of clothes

How do you guys get toner out of your clothes? It's inevitable that we'll get toner all over, especially when changing dev units out such. My work pants are khaki and I have a variety of light colored shirts. I know washing with hot water is a no go.

If the toner stain just happened, then a good old vacuum cleaner works for the most part, wash the rest of the stain out in cold water. Make sure the nozzle on the end of the vacuum cleaner is free of dirt and grim, otherwise you will have an additional stain to remove.

Obviously try to avoid light coloured clothing, provided work place uniform policy permits. I have a preference to Nylon or Polyester textured fabrics.
The polymer base fabics can make you sweat during the summer months thought , especially here in the tropics.

If it's a liquid Ink stain...? Well that's another ball game...

The only way i know that works is to blow it off with compress air. I work in a shop environment and it gets on pants, shirt ect. use the compressor air to blow it off and it disappear. wiping is no good, even with the yellow cloth, as it takes off the surface only. you can try can air and see if that works.

Yeah I've noticed that canned air does good. Our shop doesn't have a compressor system yet as its rental property and the landlord... Well sucks

Toner rags and a dust buster or small vac work perfect. I am in the same boat as you are and it always seems that when I wear khaki is the day I have a messy day ahead. I can wear dark for a week straight and not a a single "messy" call and the day I decide to go khaki it happens. I get my toner rags and chemicals online from Stoner. The toner rags are well worth it, I have some that are completely black and still work perfectly.

    Hope this helps

I use to vacum, use yellow cloth and only make things worst ,untill a new young hire i was instructing mentioned to use the compressor air which i did not think off.
And you can try it for yourself next time you are in the shop and it works. Off course we not talking about smeared toner that you tried to clean with alcohol, but if it is toner dust it will blow off ,every dust. I do it all the time.

Vac and let the washing machine do the rest! Toner melt point is way above of any washing machine program, so no worries there.

You should not be blowing toner dust out of your cloths in the customers office.
You might get away with compressed air fumigating the company workshop air conditioner with toner, but you certainly cannot get away with toner contamination in a customers office.

Wear clothes that are toner colored. That way when you get toner on them noone can tell.

Shades of black, brown, and grey last well. Bright colors like pink, yellow, red, etc, are good for one wearing then in the trash.

Wipe down visible toner with a Stretch-N-Dust. Anything left (especially on a hot sweaty day) you get to keep. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
