    Jams

I just had to share this. Where exactly did they think the missing pages went? Called out for an H5-01 Removed six pages from the fuser of an MX-3501N.

You didn't leave them in there long enough, they should be a nice golden brown

They had been in there since Saturday but I think once the h5-01 code locked up they shut the machine off

If there were six full pages, then someone cleared the code with SIMs, and continued.
As a servicing company, we gave instructions on how to clear the code but if the first test copy did not come out there are still jams instead or a mechanical problem.

I hope you don't mind me throwing in this anecdote. Your post reminded me of it. I hope I can get it right ...

A while ago I went out to work on one of the remaining Sharp analog consoles. The secretary had placed the call. Her complaint was that the document feeder was introducing blank pages in between the originals of her set. I made her repeating it three different ways just to be sure that's what she meant.

I kind of had an idea what might be happening. When the higher speed consoles get a DF jam, there are two un-imaged pages in the printer that must be ejected, and if you only have a single output tray they land on top of those printed pages.

I explained my theory, but she was adamant. The blank pages appeared in the originals, not the copies. At that point I asked her where that paper was coming from. If it's not initially in the stack of originals, how did they get there? Well that's your job!

No. You're missing the point. Blank paper from the paper trays can not ever get mixed in with the originals. It just can't happen.
Then how is it getting there?
    I think it isn't.

At that point I asked her if the the manager was here. We had the whole conversation again, abbreviated. Toward the end, the manager said, I think I get it. I'll take it from here, and gave me a gentle shove towards the door. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Nice. And I invite others to share. This is after all more about user error than needing help. Btw that's great.

Had a customer complain about jamming, and the machine "growling" at him. He was hearing the pickup rollers try three times to grab a page and fail. The water damaged paper was under a full ream. I think they though they could save the paper and the weight would flatten it down. Wouldn't have been an issue were they not 20 miles one way.

You should have told them that they accidentally switch the copier into "Paper fan mode"
