On prescription drugs, it varies but rarely does a prescription cost me more than $20.00. I consider myself to be fairly healthy and have no serious health problems at past the mid century age.

I do pay an approx $20.00 supplemental fee that comes off my paycheck for extra healthcare services.

I pay maybe 5% extra on my Federal and Provincial tax returns.

I cannot be denied for pre-existing conditions and my children are covered on my health plan until they are 25.

Depending on the healthcare issue, you can go into a walk in clinic on the same day and pay $10.00. For more complex issues, a visit to a specialist might involve wait times of up to three months.

Taken all of the above into consideration, I have never personally been concerned about the cost of Canadian healthcare in my life.

The USA has a totally different mindset on healthcare than Canada. In the USA, it is for profit and you pay the highest prescription drug prices in the world. In Canada, healthcare is non profit. Healthcare costs do take up a large portion of our budget.

The Republican party is publicly threatening to withhold Obamacare subsidy payments to health insurance providers forcing them to abandon many counties in the USA. This potentially leaves up to 23M US citizens without the availability of healthcare in 2018.

It sounds, like in your case, if you were to have a serious car crash, due to no fault of your own, god forbid, you would be both financially ruined and perhaps live in pain for the rest of your life.

The USA Congress has until August to propose a comprehensive health care plan that will be approved by the Senate. Healthcare has to be completed and signed into law before President Trump's proposed budget can be approved because a huge reduction in healthcare spending is needed to fund his huge increase in defence spending and the wall.
Huh, more unusable overly dramatic fluff.
But I guess you made your sales to the suckers.

It's just information, no need to attack someone personally.

Since US healthcare is being discussed
One reason insurance rates are increasing drastically
Amazing how much money AARP is making from one insurance company

    From article

AARP’s silence might stem from the fact that its hidden taxes have made the organization billions. Between 2010—the year Obamacare was signed into law—and 2015, the most recent year for which financial information is available, AARP received $2.96 billion in “royalty fees” from UnitedHealthGroup. During that same period, AARP made an additional $195.6 million in investment income from its grantor trust.

The Democrats never said that Obamacare was perfect and campaigned that it needed to be approved.

Insurance companies crave predictability and the Trump Administration via actions and innuendo is trying to make Obamacare collapse.

In a surprise statement, President Trump said on Tuesday that the Healthcare plan passed by the Republican congress was "too mean". He was implying that the Senate would pass a bill that was more inclusive to average Americans.

That is one thing I disagree with Trump on. He's genuinely FOR nationalized healthcare. He thinks it can be done better than it is now, but he's not in any way conservative on the subject. I personally think the healthcare system needs a complete reset. Neither the way it was before Obama or after was working.

But see--I disagree with him. I don't have any desire to fill the streets with violence over the matter. I just disagree with him.

As someone in a country with universal health care, I truly don't understand Americans fear of it. It costs individuals less compared to paying an insurance company, and it is more fair.
Oh, and give yourself a big pat on the back for not starting a riot. Lol

We enjoy better health care. To us, having to spend 30 minutes waiting is a pain in the arse.

Not sure where you got that information. World Health Organisation ranks the US in 37th place, just behind Costa Rica. Canada is ranked in 30th place. A little better, but still not great

"The Democrats never said that Obamacare was perfect and campaigned that it needed to be approved."

This was Obamas "signature achievement " which he and Democrats were responsible for all aspects of the Bill and Republicans had zero power to change or stop. ... So my simple questions are... Given the Democrats' knew Obamacare had problems , why approve it with known problems, why not solve the problems in the Bill when it was being drafted???.
