ANY great ideas on how to quickly destroy hardware chips? Memory in particular?

Okay, so we all fix stuff for a living, but our customers don't want their internal network or address data left on hardware chips (memory, network cards, copier main boards). Anyone have or used a great fast way to 'clear' or render untretrievable (without pushing buttions/ factory reset, we're talking lots of broken hardware) data left on chips? I'm thinking very high heat, but the smell would be a bit toxic!! CATTLE PROD??? Okay that's my pick!

Soaking them in a bin of salt water should corrode them pretty well. They would be useless but not as much fun as a hammer or heat!

I hope that you're not planning to resell these devices.

They do make very effective door stops. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

How about a plastic dish pan filled with 4 liters of Coca Cola? Have you seen what it will do to a steel nail? Phosphoric acid attacks most everything. =^..^=

I wonder if it could eat the solder enough for the smd chips to fall right off the board? Try it , get back to us.....I gave up diet coke 2 decades ago, sugar coke 3 or 4!

For Ricoh, remove the NVRam and HDD and hand them to the customer. Of course you need to charge for replacement parts you are going to h ave to install in order to make the machine operational.

Try a good, built tough, paper shredder for crushing the memory chips. A good shredder will crunch CD/DVD's without to much fuss.

Yes, a forced air heat gun will strip a PCB clean.
