If you guys as Techs convince a customer to upgrade....

either because the machine is soooo old .. or too expensive to fix... you suggest a newer model, Does your boss give you a cut of the commission of the sale?

I spent an hour on the phone with a customer that booger her printer up, and had her buying a bigger better unit that would handle a new idea for her business, handed it over for the boss to place the purchase P.O., now he doesn't want to cut me in on the commission! WTF!???

I guess it different from company to company. We have a lead fee program and here's what you get

Salesman 1--Thanks, but I was already working this deal, no $$
Salesman 2--Thanks, I will mark the lead and sold and get you paid
Salesman 3--Hmm, I think I will put a lead in for Joe, he's always submitting these but rarely gets paid.

In my book #2, and 3 are getting every lead I can come up with. IMHO leads work better when they don't reduce the salesperson's commission. With some sales the margins are so low they are only getting 1-2%. Emujo

We pay our techs (and clerical staff) $25-$100 for an actual lead that sells. we have a few rules and hoops to jump through like, a decision maker or department head type person needs to agree to hear from the sales rep and the rep can't have called on that customer in the past 90 days Etc...

SCREW him; look for other employment, or get your compensation in other ways (within legal means)

Supposedly in our company, we get like 1% of the sale. We have submitted a few never see a penny. I've received meals from salesman after a setup, but not actual $$. I appreciate the meals, but when salesman start lying about products or promising you reimbursement and never deliver. Just make it low priority for them. Nothing new

I've heard of lead fees but rarely seen one. I consider it a bonus if it comes through. If there are actual rules to these things I don't think that I've ever had them clarified. When I ask I get explanations like: "I didn't make any money on that deal." So I shouldn't either? =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
