Take Algore. What exactly has he done for the environment? I think the most you could say is that he stopped other people from destroying it. That's the biggest claim they could possibly make. He didn't come up with a way to reduce CO2. He didn't find a new plant that would use more CO2 and convert it back into oxygen. He didn't create some new filter that would reduce emissions. He didn't DO anything, except make a few unsuccessful films. The left is ALWAYS about restricting. NEVER about helping.
Now if you go to the right, then you see some action. Even in the anti crowds... like the anti-abortion crowd. True--they want to restrict, but they go so far beyond that. They raise millions of dollars to help young, single mothers. They run countless mental health organizations to help mothers who have aborted their babies and are trying to deal with the guilt. They have out-reach programs to show women that they actually have options. Their activities trickle down into the various industries that create the 'need' for abortion: pornography, prostitution, sex trafficking, etc.,. The pro-life movement is all about ACTION.
The same could be said about most right-wing movements.
Even the ones that have, for some reason, been claimed by the left. For example, the fight against poverty. Just look at all of the left-wing actions taken to help with poverty. EVERY SINGLE one of them has failed and only produced more poverty. But if you look into the way it's handled on the right, through charities and local churches, it's successful.
It almost doesn't matter to me what the subject is. If the left is promoting something, I can know without any doubt, that it revolves around restricting people... and that even restricting people won't solve whatever problem they're claiming exists.
