As can be seen this year from both Hurricanes Florence and Michael, once in a 100 year destructive weather events are now happening every year in the USA.
It is ironic that only two days after United Nations released their 2018 Climate report warning about the increasing dangers of climate change and specific dangers to North America that Hurricane Michael strikes the Florida panhandle with a force not seen in 100 years.

North America faces a continuous assault going forward of more heat waves, flooding, intense hurricanes and massive economic damage that could equal 1.2% of the USA's gross domestic product for every 1 degree temperature increase.
