Yes, you are correct industrial espionage is not unique to China and has been going on for a very long time.

China, however, has taken industrial espionage to whole higher level than any other nation. China has a stated policy called "Made in China 2025". It is China's objective to dominate specific high tech industries with the primary objective of leap frogging one of the West's main advantages: technological superiority.

China's plan to achieve this goal includes overt industrial espionage seeking IP (intellectual property) either by theft of forced technological transfers when a Western hightech company wants to market or manufacture in China.

    It's Back RUSSIA
F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia

In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.

Trump is right (I will burn in hell to say those words) on China with his tariff theories but the execution of those theories is poorly thought out. It basically punishes Americans with higher taxes when containers enter the Port of Los Angeles (aka container tariffs).

Back in summer 2018, most companies with Chinese production facilities, overstocked their USA warehouses before tariffs hit in Oct 01 2018. A lot of that inventory has moved out to distribution and resupply is right now incurring a 10% increase in prices.

Prices have already increased by 10% to Americans on new washer and dryer machine purchases,

The copier industry should start seeing USA price increases sometime very soon. That includes parts and consumables made in China.

This response is way off topic.

To redirect back to topic, 100% both the Russians and Chinese are in 2019 dedicating high levels of state industrial espionage resources to attack the weakened USA caused by the Trump Presidency.

A lot of speculation? Is Trump, the Manchurian Candidate? He appears to have a lot of compromising economic liabilities to Russia.

Trump probably is no compromised friend of China.

There are definitely Russian oligarchs with direct ties to Putin in Trump Tower paying above market prices.

    The Blame game:

When the entire world stops giving their own individual money away to overseas companies, they will finally realize that their own local neighbourhood economies will again improve.

    Example:
Suppose I have a 100 zoobars(fictitious wealth) in my escrow account(bank); an I give all 100 zoobars away to a foreign company for cheap purchases, how many zoobars are now circulating in the neighbourhood local area?
Simple answer, 100 less than yesterday.

When all the personal and business zoobars are gone from the entire country where does the next item of purchase come from? The foreign companies now have possession of every one of your countries zoobars.
(Your country is now officially broke and floundering in serious foreign zoobar debt.)
The next purchase comes from the foreign company who will purchase all your local neighbourhood businesses and property assests. They will give you back your zoobars for a cheap purchase price and obtain(free-will) total ownership of your country.

Cheap overseas purchases are one of the major reasons why local business is failing.

    Moral of the story...
DO NOT BLAME OTHERS you/me chose (free-will) to give our local wealth away.

    You paid the Ferry-man.

This is what happens when we live in a dollar store economy. People want things to be cheap, they don't care how long it lasts. So we get things made in China to satisfy this need for cheap things.
I first look to buy things made or grown in my own country.
I refuse to buy garlic or mushrooms or anything else grown in China.

Almost all A3 and a high % of A4 copiers are manufactured in China. All members of CopyTechNet in some way earn at least part of their income by selling or servicing goods manufactured in China.

Those countries with the cheap labour sources will rule the capitalist world. India is the next predicted cheap labour source.
Can India outdo China's cheap labour resources? Can China build and further maintain its economy during the India capitalistic rise to rule?

Re. Buying foreign products cheap, cause and effect.

All people in failing capitalistic countries may need to learn how to be humble and work side-by-side cheaply so as to out do the shift in world power economies.

This type of "financial humility" will reach the point of "survival first" if we as people fail to recognize and develop the required tolerance to our brethren. More laws and prisons will not fix the required failing economies. Peoples basic instincts will drop down into survival mode. It is somewhat sad that people only come together during a time of suffering and hardship. It is perplexing how war is the catalyst that brings the necessary human aggregation, motivation and self discipline required to overcome a latent adversity.

Technology can ease the burden, but we all need to work together to recognize the required pathway for the localised beneficial changes.

We all wanted to be lazy and get it cheap-as-chips for little effort, an innate fact in all of us.

    Charges, convictions in investigation
Among the dozens caught up in the Mueller investigation or related inquiries by federal prosecutors in New York and Washington are close Trump associates, political operatives and advisers and Russian nationals and entities. Many cases are pending, some men are awaiting sentencing and at least two have served their sentences.

    Those charged include:

Roger Stone, a longtime Trump associate and political consultant, who was indicted in January on seven charges related to lying to investigators about efforts by top Trump campaign aides to learn about emails the Russian government had stolen from his political rivals.

Michael Flynn, a former Army lieutenant general who served as Trump’s national security adviser and worked on the campaign, pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to investigators about meetings with Russians during the presidential transition. He cooperated with Mueller under a plea agreement and awaits sentencing.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer, who pleaded guilty in November 2018 to lying to Congress about a proposed real-estate deal in Moscow. He cooperated with Mueller. Cohen also pleaded guilty in August 2018 in a case prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office in New York to charges related to making six-figure payments as hush money during the campaign to two women who claimed to have had sex with Trump. Cohen was sentenced in December 2018 to three years in prison.

Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman, who was convicted in August of tax and bank charges. He pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy against the U.S. to commit money laundering, tax fraud and failing to register to represent foreign interests, and to obstruction of justice. Manafort was convicted of not reporting income and not registering with the Justice Department for representing a pro-Russia faction in Ukraine, and then not reporting millions in income. The obstruction charge stemmed from telling other witnesses to change statements to investigators while he was in custody. Manafort was sentenced 7.5 years in prison.

Rick Gates, who worked for Manafort before and during the campaign and also headed Trump’s inaugural committee. He pleaded guilty in February 2018 to conspiracy and lying to FBI agents and prosecutors. He cooperated with Mueller and awaits sentencing.

Konstantin Kilimnik, who worked with Manafort and Gates in Kiev. He was indicted in June 2018 on charges of conspiracy to obstruct justice.

George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign. He pleaded guilty in October 2017 to lying to FBI agents about an overseas professor who claimed to have “dirt” from thousands of emails from Democrat Hillary Clinton and with a Russian woman with ties to Russian officials. He served 14 days in prison and was ordered to pay a $9,500 fine and complete 200 hours of community service.

Alex van der Zwaan, an English lawyer, who pleaded guilty in February 2018 to lying to FBI agents about his work for Manafort and Gates. He served 30 days in prison and was fined $20,000.

Richard Pinedo, of Santa Paula, California, who pleaded guilty in February 2018 to identity fraud for trading in bank account numbers from stolen identities that others used to hide digital payments over the internet. Pinedo was sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.

12 Russian nationals who were indicted in July 2018 with conspiracies for hacking Democratic computers to influence the 2016 election. Charges included aggravated identity theft and money laundering.

13 Russian nationals and three entities including the Internet Research Agency that were indicted in February 2018 with conspiracy to defraud the U.S. for interfering with the election. Three were charged with conspiracy to commit wire and bank fraud. Five were charged with aggravated identity theft.
