    Re: Paper in school machines

I LITERALLY dealt with this issue at a High School that had a Canon iR5050. The call was for jamming, and when I arrived, this is what I saw.... (Wish I had taken a photo of that instead.....)

I found a canon iR5000 in which both the 3 ream paper decks had wrapped reams of paper just like yours. I got a really good laugh out of it.

i told that customer that this particular model does come with the unwrapping option, so you'll have to unwrap the reams yourself. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Paper in school machines

Some of the saltiest language I have heard on the job has been while I was behind a machine working on it with panels stripped and moved out from the wall and a teacher walks in. What they will say when they think no one is around is something else.

Speaking of schools, I once had to go to a public school, grades 1 to 8, and work on a very old machine years back. The kids had just been let out so I had a small group of teachers sitting in the room that the machine was in. I had a rough day and a headache and when I asked what was wrong they all began talking excitedly at once, all of them pointing here and there and talking over each other like well, little kids. Without realizing it, I began to rub my forehead and raised my voice slightly and said " Please, one at a time". The teachers all had silly grins on their faces, I guess since all of them deal with kids all day they sound like them when they are in the staff room.

    haha....yeah.

    Re: Wrapped paper ream.

Its actually at good way to keep your paper dry overnight, if the machine comes with tray heaters.
But ream drying is only good for a one person secretary office who's in full knowledgable control of their machine.

Never had this, yet! But we did have a teacher a couple of years ago call for the document feeder jamming, it would not feed a CD in a plastic case that they wanted to make a copy of the cover!

So, so sad. One would think an educated individual would simply pull the cover out of the case and copy that

    ooooooh! yeah.
Had a head-to-head discussion with a couple of teachers an a head-master at a primary school over the years.

The golden rule is --DO NOT try and teach the teacher!. Just let them believe they know everything about copiers.

Post Re: Paper in school machines

It can be easier to get a group of teachers all together, after a lunch break if possible, to explain why does... the line comes only from DF copies and not from the glass/print
