    GPS Updates?

Updating my "Tom-Tom" for the first time in a while, and I thought COMPUTER updates took forever!! Even on a high-speed (100 Mbps) internet connection, it's taking far too long to install!

These things get traffic updates from the cloud...why can't software updates be the same?

Get a map. They are cheaper and won't lead you astray.

There's no doubt about that... but I've been married so long now, it's hard for me to do ANYTHING without some woman's voice telling me, "In a 1/4 mile, turn left...".

    Re: GPS Updates?

I almost never update it, except if it is a last generation navigator. This is because it becomes slow and unstable after some updates. In the streets that I know more or less I use it, while on new roads I rely on Google Maps sometimes.

I think it took almost 2 hours the last time I updated my Garmin.

I agree...no reason to take that long.
