    Nepotism

Just wondering if anyone else works for a dealership where the owner has their children working there? I have 4 that do absolutely nothing, except cause problems and tension with all of the other employees. They are always late, abuse vacation and sick days, and are condescending and rude. Anyone in the same boat?

I worked for one a while back. One son was the Service Manager, the other tried the parts department.... then sales.... then customer service... then field service... then BACK to sales... then....

    You get the idea.

    Re: Nepotism

My boss married the owner's daughter 20 years ago or so. Then about 10 years ago both of his son's, her step children, started working here. For the most part they do what is required of the rest of us. A few of us "older" techs realize they will always have a job no matter what happens. The younger ones will complain and we explain it to them and tell them "If they still have a problem to go talk the service manager, their father, and the President of the company, service managers wife and their step mom".

Have said no to good paying jobs after figuring out the company structure based on experience of nepotism.
Nothing wrong with father and son businesses, but makes it frustrating for non related individuals with a bit of ambition.
    Whatever
