Canon CLC 1180, jamming on the transfer drum. Checked it out and found no static. None what so ever, so I was just about to start taking it apart and check the hvt when the key op came in and told me she sprayed anti static on the transfer drum as it seemed the sheets stuck there when it jammed. I explained that this was normal and necessary for it to work, needed a new belt after. Sure was glad she told me, who knows how long I would have been there testing boards and power supplies.

I had one customer put toner for a analogue NP 3235 or whatever it was into a IR 2200. Reversed image of course and I could smell the toner as soon as I took the dev out as I used to rebuild these in the shop. Later I found the empty box. I have wondered who would cut open a toner bottle and spoon it into the machine, it was the only way they could ahve done it.

That's one constant with this job, people doing dumb things that make your day longer, harder and more frustrating. Could be customers, co workers, manager and the idiots driving into things while on your way to a call.

I admit that one is a classic tale, but in reference to your comment that nobody is that stupid, I have had liquids put in toner bottles that had powder in them...more than once. I have had to say the words "Master Sargent, you have to take the wrapper off the ream of paper before you put it in the tray."

The other week I drove 5 hours round trip to clean a spec off the slit glass, after having demo the practice to her the previous week, and trying to talk her through it on the phone the day before.

Yesterday I made the 5 hour trip because a machine was down with an error message. The Ricoh was asking for fuser film to be replaced. I showed them how pressing the "x" in the upper right corner would make the message block go away and they could make copies again.

the most weird thread in the world here comes. since 2008 i worked in company.service manger make conference with us. i met abnormal thread share thought's with us. thread is thin lines in image not straight.like palm tree lines .it's happend only in copying. it's still in machine about 1 week. no avail. one of us go there after this period and customer told us it's working today . after that it's back again .service manger went there and open scanner wires' pulleys' some thing wrong? nothing. last thing check is lens .he choked. he saw Cockroach sitting inside lens some times.enjoying-it walking in lens like a trip.

In the old days I worked in the Middle East. Customer had a Minolta EP-470Z, almost new. Since there where some spots on the copy (crud on the platen only....) they called an Egyptian printing machine technician to fix the machine. The guy "cleaned" the drum and used compressed air to give the whole machine a good clean too. Than it made beautiful, clean empty white (only) pages, so they called me.

Result: Drum had its red OPC coating completely removed. Shining blank aluminum cylinder. Corona's without tungsten wire. Developer completely gone. And where did it go? Together with lots of toner in the back of the machine, covering all the boards, all gears, clutches, chain etc.

I declared the machine a total loss and went.

yester day customer told me that transfer belt is cut. so i told hime to replace and machine will be fine.so customer try to think to make tranfer belt.he thought that technician try to get more money from me.he get brown leather and sewing him on his hand.but he made it narrow some. did some one met that before
