    Clean Computer

I love free stuff. I have always been able to keep my computer clean with freeware, and was wondering how do others maintain theirs. I run CCleaner, Ad-Aware and Spybot. I use Nod 32 from Eset for my anti virus because that is what my shop sells. Anyone have better stuff for free?

Remove the big +200mb heavy Adobe Reader and install the free little FoxitReader, and your pdf copy manuals be faster. Start with a test of the program if you dont belive me.

If you download portable apps of many programs, you dont need to install, and your computer keep the speed.

Free AVG is a good virus prog for home user (the complete avg is slow like norton, if you use more than the virus app!)

    On my Windows computers:
    AVG free (anti-virus)
    Spybot (anti-malware and spyware)
    I clean the registry myself.
Router's firewall is sufficient so I leave Windows off.

    On my Mac computers:
    Nothing

NOD32 Antivirus (one of best av solutions that does not suck you system resources dry).
Comodo Firewall (tests show it's the No.1 software firewall, and it's FREE!).
    Raxco PerfectDisk (scheduled disk defrags).
    Vista Manager (tweaker, reg cleaner).
Acronis TrueImage (complete HDD image backups).
Genie Backup Manager (email, bookmarks and file backups).

    Linux on my computer

And for my friends who insist on windows:
Upgrade Vista back down to XP
    AVG antivirus
    Windows Defender
    Windows Firewall
Firefox (with IE-Tab and AdBlock Plus plugins)
    Thunderbird

I have put Ubuntu on a few computers and told them it was Mojave... runs great, no more crashes.
