This reminds me of a customer who called to complain that she was getting bleed thru when she copied onto both sides of a transparancy, even complaing that it wasn't effecient that she had to remove the paper backing and feed it manually thru the bypass!!!

I had an install a few years back and while giving the customers some training a lady needed a copy. She loaded her document into the ADF and pressed start, grabbed her ORIGINAL and was impressed at the speed of the copier and that the copier had manager to even match the colour of her original paper. She came back a minute later looking for her COPY, I didn't say a word, her staff did though.

Re: What is the dumbist customer comment/question you've heard?

OK, after 28 years in the business I thought I'd met my fair share of intellectually challenged customers, but one today took advantage of the right to stupidity.
It was a little desktop printer that is a month old and the second toner cartridge is just about to run out. They told me that the advertising literature says it will last for 1000 prints. I explained about 5% coverage (whoosh, right over their heads), then I found the counter, it has done 1869 prints (pretty damn close to 1000 prints per cartridge...no?) one of the women then asked me if that includes the prints that they've thrown in the bin!!!
As if that wasn't enough, it's not printing centrally on envelopes, which I tried to resolve with them, even though I was losing the will to live by this point. When I showed them how to select bypass tray on the print driver, she asked if she has to tell it every time she wants to print on envelopes, why doesn't the printer know what she wants (maybe one of you can help me out here, but my lack of knowledge on other manufacturers stopped me from being able to suggest a printer that takes it's instruction telepathically). Then she asked me why the printer instructions don't tell her how to set up their document to print correctly.
How I got out of there without telling them where they could shove their printer is a miracle in itself

You just came out and fixed our copier, now i can't find my files on the pc.

I got a new computer and it doesn't see your copier.
" turn the monitor so it can see it better "
    That didn't help

    Your scanner is broke
" did anything change at your office "
    No, nothing has changed
" did you change internet providers or get a new server "
Yes, but i didn't think that would matter.

The fax on your copier is not working
" did you plug the line in "
I can't/won't find where where to plug it in
" i go to site, there is no fax option on the machine "
" once fax option is installed, the fax line is not even active"

We can't print to your copier
"someone unplugged the power to a local switch to charge their laptop"
It didn't work before I did that
