    FRUSTRATION..!!!!

    Sorry guys...a non-copier related rant.
    I have a 12 month old 22" LCD LG monitor....beautiful screen...was a joy to behold.
Got home today and it wouldn't turn on...no power light.
Tested it in multiple wall sockets...but no good.....now the frustrating part as a tech is that I KNOW that I could fix it but LCD monitors these days are a non serviceable item...no screws in the case.
So for the sake of a 40c soldered fuse I now will be forced to purchase a replacement monitor.
Anyone else had a similar experience?

Check the manufacturers web site for warranty, some monitors are on two or three year warranty that you can claim online.

You can pry it open carefully, I have had to take the mini pry bar (screwdriver) to a few in the past and some of the plastic latches break but enough will survive to hold the thing together when your done. It's alread broken, you got nothing to loose.

Go for it! My philosophy exactly. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Device Firmware Issue Maybe?

I have a 20' IO monitor that sometimes requires tapping the power button on and off (clicking the micro-switch repeatedly) before it will come on. (There is no mechanical switch on the device.) Same thing for turning it off. It's as though the firmware in the device is flaking out and sometimes doesn't recognize the power up or down request. I suppose this is not the problem you're experiencing, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

Best thing I can suggest is to actually contact LG and ask them what they can do to help. I would be willing to bet that seeing as the monitor is only just out of warranty they'd do something to help. Can't hurt to ask!
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Phone up LG they normally have a 3 times a year walk in service that they don’t charge their clients for repairs or service. Or at least that is what LG here is SA has.

Before you do anything drastic like cracking the case open, ring LG and double check as the majority of their LCD monitors come with a 3 year warranty as standard. Strangely though, their tv-monitors generally only have a 1 year warranty.
