wow that is just plain nasty and laziness on the part of the company (sic receptionist) I wonder if she uses that toilet.. it may be the source of the poor diet! good thing you took the pic it would be hard to imagine otherwise!
IF your boss gives you heat.. invite him to go on the run with you and have him clean it up first!

I agree with everyone else. That's just *^*&^ rude. You are not a janitor, you are a technician.

An update, fellow techs, my company, a couple of days later, sent out the new guy, without telling him the situation of the filthy copier. I called him to warn him. He called me later, and said the copier was in the office area, and was very clean. He said that I made quite an impression on them. They were sorry for wasting our time. Good thing I remained calm, and just held my ground. And the new guy, Mark, is held in higher esteem with me now. He said he wouldn't touch it if it was still a pig, and appreciated the heads up. Cool thread guys.

Tell the customer it is a real POS and sell them something new.
At least a toner bomb machine doesn't stink and the dirt is black, not brown.
I wouldn't even use it for a boat anchor because I would get sited for environmental reasons.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Not to mention toner being disease free. Just plain nasty.

I had an account at one time in a place that housed about 10 cats. I was very polite when I told my customer that I could and would repair her copier, but I certainly was not going to kneel in the piles of cat shit that covered the floor in front of the machine. I went back the next day and the turds were gone. (can't say that about the smell, though).

    Glad you stuck your guns.

People forget that the dealer/tech and customer have a business relationship. That implies that each party has rights and responsibilities...not being a pig is one of them.
