I rarely stop for a lunch preferring to get the next call and this is wrong. By doing wrong in many cases the last call is getting done or reach the customer in the right time

Way back when I first started I went to work for a company that was very strict about lunch breaks. They made quite sure that when out in the field each and every service tech was required to stop for lunch. The paperwork we turned in had actual time arrived and time call was completed. You also actually put time spent at lunch. Eating in the car was not considered a proper lunch break. Their reasoning was a stressed and hungry tech makes more mistakes and that will affect the customer relations. Continued that habit all the way through to retirement. There were occasional times when I ate in the car because distances between calls may have not allowed a complete call if thirty or so minutes was taken to stop and eat. But as a general rule anywhere between 12:00 to 1:00 I stopped and ate lunch

I go thru the drive thru and eat a burrito or what have you on my way to my next call. I get caught up in my day. If im being healthy, i will keep snacks in my car. But i dont remember the last time i made myself sit down and take a lunch. Not the best, but i get bored on lunch breaks and feel i spend so much time in the car that i dont really need one.

as far as your "shaky" thing.. have you been checked for diabetes? that is a classic symptom
Feeling "shaky" is a symptom of low blood sugar.

If it's too high (unless its EXTREMELY high), you'll never feel it.

Yep, I'm diabetic, too. No fun at all.

I'm all too familiar with going too high and low.

My doctor yells at me if I don't get breakfast AND lunch on a daily basis.

i can get shaky if I'm high ( sugar) also.. but having been diabetic for almost 13years now I have a pretty good grasp on how my body feels versus my count

not all diabetics have the same reactions... also what is a 'good' level for me may not be a good one for you

Would get agitated then i know its time to chow. Never took lunch breaks. Would have salad and stuff in the car for the day while i drive.
That ended up in my lap and all over the seats before...
    Whatever

Would add that I used to skip breakfasts, you know lot of coffees and cigarettes, then lunch may have or not time for it, next I've got stomach problems.
Nowdays I won't miss a lunch if have chance, chances are created on daily basis

Re: Do you stop work for lunch?

We recently changed over to an automated call routing system from having fixed territories. One interesting thing is the company places a one hour lunch activity on all routes automatically each day. If you take it at the end of day or cancel it more than a time or two you will likely be having a conversation with your supervisor / manager reminding you to utilize the lunch break appropriately. We do have some flexibility in this:

Ideally lunch starts anywhere from 11:00 to 14:00 depending on where a gap between calls lands
You may utilize travel to next call to place you near a desired lunch spot, if one is reasonably on route
You may split your lunch, it is possible to take a part of the break, interrupt it, then finish it later

Since the change I haven't missed a lunch break.
