I'm supposed to take a lunch but rarely have the time to, I generally find myself running through a driver through at a fast food joint and cramming down a burger as I drive to my next call. The company that I am is always complaining about techs not working through their shift and not taking a lunch, I just take the overtime as they have to pay me if I work through my lunch

I'd like to stop for lunch but I've got 15 techs out on the road I'm providing support for. Since they all dont stop at the same time the phone doesn't stop ringing all day long. Add to that salesmen that think I'm at their beck and call and not to forget those pesky customers who want their problem fixed NOW!. Lunch, dream on.......

Approximately 90% of the time I get lunch... I never get a regular lunch break ever. It somewhere between 12:00 and 3:00pm each day. The other 10% of the time depends on how busy I am. This includes no lunch at all, to a 10min stuff as much in your mouth and keep going afternoons.

Approximately 5% of the time I get morning tea (smoko in OZ). I don't really want to eat this early in the morning any how. So I nearly always forget the bosses strict instruction to take a 10min break.

I start the day usually a half hour early, and sometimes finish a half hour later with absolutely NO OVERTIME pay. This give you and idea of how busy I am most days. I have the odd 1 to 2 hours finishing late to get the customers machine going. And again with no over time pay.

I then come home and assist every one else with all their associated problems, emails, save-the-world-situations, take a shower, have dinner, kiss my lovely wife, and hit the bed sometime around midnight.

My brother is a church goer says that I'm clocking up "Soul Credits for my work". I say to him "when can I cash them in to buy something"

But this thread begs a new one called "Do you stop lunch for work"?

    I certainly don't!
