How long we stayed with the machines? ...
Just as with this Great Genre: Science Fiction Film.

what is your favorite in this genre?

risk it with this:. maybe in the 70's would be surprised. but the conversation has "Forbin" with that "machine", is very particular.

today, a classic , what is your favorite? ", the current... account as well.

Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) Part 3

I was a teen and thought that was an incredible computer. My kids iPod has more to it than that thing.

I'd never heard of that movie before - the plot is interesting. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I need to find it.

The movie I saw closer to this was Wargames, which, in today's world, probably isn't as fiction as it was the day it was made.

If you cannot find it in a video store, being that it will likely be very hard to find...here is a torrent link...

    Colossus - The Forbin Project - 1970 Classic Sci-Fi - Widescreen DVD Rip Xvid - 88keyz Torrent - btjunkie

The movie is a pretty good one. Colossus is a super computer that was built to automate the defence network of the US. It soon communicates with its Russian counterpart and the two computers decide arbitrarily to join together and force peace upon the world. Any nation that does not comply will face an annihilation (read nuclear) response from the computers in a totalitarian kind of way.

An old classic, The Day the Earth Stood Still

And another movie quite ahead of its time, The Forbidden Planet. Staring a very young Leslie Nielson and "Robbie" the Robot...

Or this interesting movie, apparently "authentic scientific" according to the intro....

And of course, my all time favourite....AMAZON WOMEN ON THE MOON

*WARNING: Might tickle your funny bone*

An excerpt....Arsenio Hall does this scene...

Colonel Sandurz: He's an asshole too sir. Gunner's mate First Class Philip Asshole!
Dark Helmet: How many asholes do we have on this ship, anyway?
[Entire bridge crew stands up and raises a hand]
    Entire Bridge Crew: Yo!
Dark Helmet: I knew it. I'm surrounded by assholes!
[Dark Helmet pulls his face shield down]
    Dark Helmet: Keep firing, assholes!
