do typewriters count in this thread??? I used to do per machine labor for a company on cape cod, MA. when they'd get 8-10 machines in house, i'd go down for the day and pick-up a few hundred dollars.
one machine was flown over from nantucket island(IBM selectric). no start condition. popped the cover, entirely filled with mouse nest material.
put the cover back on. no charge. not repairable on the tag. I HATE FRGGIN MICE
Actually started getting that sort of complaint about the IBM type bar machines when they stopped making parts for them in the mid 70's. Just have to remember this though. There were parts common to those IBM type bar machines going back to before WW2. There were a few customers in 1973
that actually still used what IBM named the Model 01 from 1935! 4506VV2240.jpg

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
