Brian, I think it was just incompetence of local government that has me, still, unplowed to this day. Cutting budgets on maintainence of winter equipment seems like a good idea in the summer. I'm enjoying the break though. Sorry customers.

YES! Just got the text we are closed today. A typical NC snow day, snow , freezing rain and sleet. It is not melting on the roads, temp is below freezing. Probably go in late tomorrow as the roads will be solid ice.

Snow days? Never had any such thing since I got out of school. You just have to suck it up and try not to die out there.

Brian.....I thought you were gonna send all 22 inches down here. I hope you and Kevin enjoy your WHITE STUFF.

We got the rain, turn to freezing rain, turn to sleet, turn to snow, turn to snow and sleet, turn to snow and freezing rain, turn to misting rain.

Schools, Dr. offices, most manufacturing, city govn'ts ( 'cept emergency personnel ) all closed. ( I heard that even Wal-Mart closed for a few hours. ) The local news and weather people say about 1-2 inches; closer to 3 inches at my house. The central and northern part of the state was worse than in our area.

A couple of the techs came in at 8, the rest of us were told to wait 'til 10.

Our city and county are not equipped to handle this kind of weather. Road graders and front-end loaders push the snow around on the roads, dump trucks put sand on the bridges and over passes. That's about it.

Like I said 1/2 inch will shut us down.

I am waiting on the freezing rain now. I went out earlier and the roads were already packed down with about a half inch of slush. Guaranteed to be a blanket of ice in the morning. I am sure I get to sleep in.
