    Re: CALLING ALL McGYVER'S

well i have a tendency for cable ties and screws until i can get the part in. I carry a small drill to pop holes in frames ( metal or plastic ) to fix screws or ties to keep shit in place.

there is a product out there ..2 stage powder / glue to refix ABS and other tough plastics.. you can even tap or file the shape needed ( teeth of a gear..or tab of plastic.

but mainly i keep track of parts that fail... rob good ones of dead assemblies... screws ...sm plates.. gears..switches.

Yeah, that was some pretty ugly sarcasm on my part, apologies. I had a ptc that someone folded up a piece of paper and jammed it inside the unit to hold it in place. *facedesk*

Sharp MX-M365N... the front cover has a protrusion on either side that holds the door closed, well the one on the left hand side had been bent inward, so the protrusion didn't "grab" on that side.

$100 or so for a new front door, or 5 minutes with my Bic lighter warming the plastic up... and "Coaxing" that door catch outwards until it held the door closed.

5 more minutes with a Mr. Clean magic eraser to remove the carbon from the cover, and there we go! It's been holding steady for close to a year now.

Years ago we worked on Toshiba BD2510 or similar in a school with broken drive belt in document feeder. They wanted us to fix it right now and we do tried some rubber bands with no great success until my colleague open his jacket top pocket and bring out...a condom. Eventually it keeps machine running until belt come

    Re. Size.

Was it made in China or the rubber tree giants of the Congo.
