    ? techs

love this site it is well laid out and lots of help but i wonder about the techs that use it .
the number of questions about copiers in the printer section and printers in the copier section never fails to amaze me .you would think they would go onto a what is, web site before posting .that way they will know what equipment they are working on.

    Yeah,
It boggles the mind that the poster isn't sure what model they have, don't have jam codes, and even get the error code wrong.

"ohmmmmm .... I see an error code in your future ... it has a seven in it." Are we mind readers? Sometimes, yes!
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think, unfortunately, some techs dont have the luxury of working specifically on one brand, or have limited access to service materials, support site access or even training courses.
I saw the same thing when I worked out rural areas...... sometimes you'd just jump head-first into something, and those techs with a 'technical' oriented mind will always work it out. Those that dont will always ask for help. You can tell who's who.

Funny thing is...... its all the same in theory, so you'd think most people would be able to work it out!

Some people have no fear of sounding like an idiot, I guess.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

No one knew I was referring to you. Why did you have to go and out yourself? lol
