    What did Ricoh do...

I was perusing Ricoh's site the other day and I noticed that they don't have any of their scanners on it anymore.

I don't remember any press releases or hearing about them getting out of the scanner business...anybody know what happened?

Ricoh is no longer selling or servicing and scanners. I used to work for them before i switched to a dealer and had stopped servicing them a couple months ago. They made all the customers find their own companies to fix them until they totally crap out and have to buy a new one.

There's little demand for stand-alone scanners. Almost all MFP's have built-in scan units these days.

Scanners are still listed with support files posted on the TSC site.

The whole business is going toward digital.
Why sell scanners when you can sell an MFP with scanning as a option?
15 years from now 90% of tonerheads will be out of a career. If they don't know basic computers they will be flipping burgers or changing oil.
The only people that have faxes are OLD school businesses, because they can't learn to e-mail or operate simple scanners.
Throw color out there as much as possible and make that money while it is there, because tomorrow we could all be out of work.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?
