    Using MFPs primarily for scanning

Can anyone tell if you have anything written into your service contracts for customers who do more scanning than printing/copying on their MFPs....we have been in a situation where a salesperson has sold the m/c, knowing that it will be used primarily for scanning, so at the end of the day, while we aren't getting a lot of revenue from the pages out, the RADF is getting hammered & requires parts

depending on the device you can track the amount scans done on the unit and bill them a rate for the durable parts in the DADF area. We have several law firms setup this way.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

We have aSharp ARM620N that has over 3 million scans and has yet to see first PM for copies. Amazingly has only had a handful of calls for adf problems. Machine is one of several in their HQ so overall it works to our advantage as rest of machines make up for difference.

We charge for scans and faxes out. I have a Lexmark in Florida doing 80k scans a month. Good thing its scans because that hunk of shit couldn't handle that kind of copy volume.
Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!
